My name is Jennifer and I'm a neurology post doctoral researcher a the U of R (yea, random). I've always been interested in photography and film but I really picked up on photography as a hobby out in Rochester, NY while I was working on getting my Ph.D. in a Biochemistry program at the U of R as a sort-of outlet (just as any science grad student and that will make sense! lol). Back in 2010 I got married to an amazing person ;) and in going through the process my interest in photography blossomed; particularly in wedding photography. Just for fun, I made it my mission to get shots at the many friends weddings I was invited to my first couple of years in grad school and got tons of compliments on my photos. So I thought, why not give this thing a shot and try to make it a business?!? (being in grad school I only half thought it would all work out!). I shot my first wedding in 2010 for my husband’s friends, Julie & Jon, after that I commissioned friends to do couples shoots with me and in 2011 was lucky that my amazing cousins Lauren, Ryan, Andy, and Diana asked me to shoot their weddings. In 2012 I was officially accepting weddings and it has been AMAZING :)I enjoy all the emotions that weddings bring about; from the planning process to finally seeing your day come alive to the realization that you will be spending the rest of your life with your best friend.
I enjoy being there through all the craziness and love and capturing it all.
I am eternally grateful to all of those who have gone out with me and let me take photos of them and especially grateful to those who have let me be their wedding photographer!
I am an extreme perfectionist when it comes to photography & I promise I will go above and beyond to capture your event.
While being a scientist is a full time job and then some, I use what time I have to perfect my photography skills. I will continue to strive for the best and can only get better. My style is more of a candid "photo journalistic" style (which is the manor in which I shot these events for the most part). Of course I will take all the important formal portraits as well (but I tend to make these a little less formal and posy as well) and I try my best to make them fun! :) And lastly, I will shoot almost any event, I'm not just limited to weddings!
:)Thanks for your interest ♥
